The track was originally titled ‘Nuvi Vanhanaa(part 2-Babureh)’. The word ‘babureh’ is to tell people that Maldivian bodu beru style baburu beat is used in this song. I don’t know who put that word but all I know is that it is wrong to call that beat ‘baburu’ since the beat used in this song is ‘Kemtaa’ or the fast beat of ‘Kaasi Majaa’. Fasy and Nashid may have much better knowledge in guitars and other musical instruments. But for the traditional Bodu beru, surely none of them can compete with my home island people.
What I want to ask here is, how many people now will be confused of what really is ‘baburu’ and what is ‘kemtaa’? Fortunately, Boduberu Challenge has made boduberu really famous and now everyone knows what is baburu and what is kaasimajaa or kemtaa.
